Gandhinagar, Wednesday: Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani expressed his gratitude to the citizens for their co-operation at each and every stage of lockdown. Now that the state government has provided a number of freedoms to citizens, but with certain terms and conditions, the Chief Minister has decided to launch the ‘Hu Pan Corona Warrior’ campaign ( Even I am a Corona Warrior) from 21st May to 27th May, 2020.
It is to be noted that the state government was on its toes in the last two months and is still working 24×7 to curb the crisis. Gujarat led India from the front in the maximum number of COVID-19 tests. At the same time, the state accounts for the highest discharge rate among all the states. The discharge rate of Gujarat is also higher than the national average.The Government of Gujarat left no stone unturned to ensure the welfare of the people. A number of important decisions were taken by the state government during the last two months. The highlights are as under:
- Chief Minister came up with dedicated COVID-19 hospitals and thousands of patients are still availing free of cost treatment till date.
- The state government provided free of cost food grains to around 80% of the population i.e 5 crore poor and middle class citizens for 2 months.
- The state government reached out to labourers and all those without a ration card through the Anna Bhrama Yojana.
- The administration conducted intensive surveillance and aggressive testing.
- The state government took utmost care of migrant labourers and operated 560 Shramik trains to ensure that they reach to their respective native states in a safe manner. Gujarat operated the highest number of Shramik trains in India and facilitated the return of more than 8 lakh migrant labourers.
- The state government introduced a Rs.5000 crore package under the Aatmanirbhar Sahay Yojana in order to help small shops owners and traders establish themselves after two months of lockdown. The state government, under this scheme, is providing a guarantee free loan up to ₹ 1 lakh at a nominal interest rate of 2%.
Chief Minister is indebted to the selfless government employees, doctors, paramedical forces, police personnel, health and sanitation workers who have proved their mettle in this scenario. They were termed them as Corona Warriors till today. But now that relaxations have been provided based on terms and conditions, the Chief Minister has appealed everyone to be a ‘Corona Warrior’.
We were safe within the four walls of our houses till today. But now, we have to step out and realise that COVID-19 will stay with us till a permanent cure is found. The fight is a long drawn process. Small mistakes can prove fatal. We must learn to live with COVID-19. Fear is not an alternative. We must inculcate the mantra of ‘Tread cautiously, but without fear.”
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi said, “Jaan bhi, Jahan Bhi”. We will fight against this virus and protect ourselves at the same time.
The weeklong campaign will be starting from 21st May, 2020 to 27th May, 2020. The oaths taken during the campaign should be sincerely followed by everyone for life.
The three most important aspects of the ‘Hu Pan Corona Warrior’ (‘Even I am a Corona Warrior’) campaign are:
- Let us keep the elders and children of the family indoors.
- Not step out without a mask. At the same time, we must ensure to not step out without a concrete reason.
- Follow ‘Do Gaj ki Doori’ i.e ensure to follow social distancing at all points of time.
At the same time, take adequate measures to improve our immunity.
The state government has kept a number of interesting tasks under this campaign.
Everyone must upload a selfie with their grandparents on 22nd May, 2020 with the #hupancoronawarrior on their social media. We ought to take care of the elderly and we must create awareness about the same.
The CM expects us to act with prudence and maturity.
