Around 40 lakh NFSA card holders in Gujarat (except in Ahmedabad) receives free food grains

       Gandhinagar, Thursday: Secretary to CM, Mr. Ashwani Kumar detailed on the free food grains distribution in the state. He said that around 40 lakh NFSA card holders in Gujarat except from Ahmedabad have received the food grains been provided by the state Government in the current situation across the state for the month of May.
       He said that the GoG had announced to prove free food grains for the May month to NFSA card holders which include 10 kg wheat, 3 kg rice, 1 kg sugar,1 kg dal and pulses as well under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana 3.5 kg wheat and 1.5 kg rice.
      Wearing mask and maintaining social distance remained mandatory during this distribution.
     Giving details in this regards Mr. Ashwani kumar said that, a total of 3 crore 36 lakh people holding 68.80 lakh ration cards have been covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and provided with wheat, rice, sugar and salt free of cost during the month of May as provided in April.
     This distribution for the month of May was started by the Government on 17th May. 40 lakh ration card holders have been benefitted of this free distribution of food grains till Thursday, May 21.
