State transport bus services resumes: 23,069 passengers travelled in one day from the state

      Gandhinagar, Thursday: Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani has announced Lockdown 4.0 with special relaxations from 19th May 2020 to restore the life on routine normal track amid COVID-19.
       As a part of which, the State transport bus service has been resumed for the people of the state from 20th may which operates during 8:00 am to 6:00 pm in areas other than containment zones across the state.
       On the first day i.e. on 20th May 21, 2020 23,069 passengers from all over the state travelled in a single day to various spots following the compulsion of mask and maintaining social distance, added Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Ashwani Kumar.
        He added that, Gujarat State transport has resumed after around a period of two months, on the first day as many as 23,069 passengers travelled through a total of 6600 busses which include 46 express and 6545 local trips.
        Gujarat state transport even carried out various services amid lockdown. It had never stopped and had helped to facilitate migrant workers to move from one destination to another or for special relief operations. For which the entire transport corporations team shall be appreciated.
       In the prevailing circumstances, it is desirable for passengers to travel via e-ticket or mobile ticket. However, in order to avoid inconvenience to the common passengers, tickets are also issued with cash from the counter at the bus stand as well as by conductor in the bus in a manner that complies with social distancing.
       Passengers must arrive at the bus stand at least 30 minutes before the bus departs. The bus is operated with 60 per cent of the capacity of the passengers. After Each trip bus is being sanitized and operated for another trip.At present, ST service is being operation in all the districts except Ahmedabad. The interstate transport and Gandhinagar to Ahmedabad has also been kept shut.
      Secretary to CM said that in ST bus service has been operational in five zones of the state, which include Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Gandhinagar in North Zone, Kheda, Panchmahal, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Dahod, Anand, Chhotaudepur in central zone, Surat, Valsad, Tapi, Dang, Bharuch, Navsari, Narmada in south Zone, Rajkot, Morbi, Junagadh, Porbandar, Botad, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Jamnagar, Surendranagar, GirSomnath, DevbhoomiDwarka in saurashtra zone and major cities of Bhuj to North Zone as well Saurashtra Zone.
